UTS Brexit Statement
The UTS UK Transition Working Group
With a focus on the COVID 19 pandemic, it is easy to forget that the UK Transition period comes to an end on December 31st.
To keep you informed of what this means for you as a customer, throughout 2020 the UTS multi-disciplinary working group has been monitoring developments effecting customers.
What we know so far…
As a Brexit Trade Agreement has not yet been signed, firm predictions are difficult to make. However, we can confirm:
- Suppliers are doing everything they can to maintain stock supply
- Robust conversations are continuing with all supply chain partners to ensure up to date information
- There are no major price increases directly related to Brexit planned between now & February ’21
Strategically Stocked Sites…
To offer some reassurance to you, our customer, we have secured healthy stock levels of popular products specific to each distribution branches customer base, as well as products procured strategically to fulfil the needs of our various contracted commitments. Customer specific stock held locally for contract customers has been reviewed with appropriate stock levels adjusted to mitigate risk where possible.
We’re Here to Help Maintain Supply…
We have encouraged our key manufacturing and supply chain partners to take action where possible to minimise potential Brexit disruption at their end. We will continue to work closely with them to maintain as smooth a flow of supply as possible and keep you up-to-date with supply news going forward.
Potential Delays To Prepare For…
We are aware there is restricted access within the Power Tools’ market at the moment, although we will continue to work closely with our various Power Tool suppliers to ensure you, our customer, remains a priority.
There may also be a slight delay on the delivery of special ‘non-core’ products, this is something that may affect all distribution outlets in the coming months, so not limited to the UTS group, however, again we are working extensively with our supply chain to mitigate risk or limit disruption should this be the case.
